As students of technical professions, we are, of course, interested in the latest developments in the technology and IT sectors. That’s why we went to the IFA again this year to see what the future holds. We explored the exhibition in small groups and got to see a lot. As well as the usual things like televisions, music speakers and smart household appliances, we also discovered some new products such as cute little robot pets and service bots. Another important section was AI in all its different forms. We were really creeped out by the life-like Halloween figures that moved when you got too close to them.
The focus of a lot of exhibitors this year was more on customisable accessories than on ground-breaking innovations. There were certainly loads of special keyboards, mice and PCs. Some were transparent, others were colour-coordinated, and some were designed according to a specific theme, such as cats. We left with our heads buzzing, and we already can’t wait to see which of the innovations will be used in our lessons soon.
