Ikebana (生花) is the Japanese floral art that inspires with its aesthetic simplicity.
The word Ikebana is composed of the terms ikenu (living) and hana (flowers). This allows it to be translated in several ways, for example, to bring living flowers or flowers to life. And that is what Ikebana is all about. To create a living work of art from individual flowers, twigs, leaves and other natural materials.
Just in time for the beginning of spring last week, the pupils of the foreign language professions had the opportunity to get to know the colourful world of Ikebana together with an expert in flower art and her Japanese teacher. Under the guidance of the expert, everyone could create a Japanese Ikebana artwork and take it home with them.
In our foreign language courses, the students not only learn the language, but also the culture, customs and values of the respective country. If you are interested in a foreign language career with Japanese, then simply get in touch with us by phone or email.
